FAQs
What happens in a Chinese Medicine appointment?
Your session starts with a chat about what brought you in. Aimee will ask questions to get a full picture of your health. Treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, tui na massage, moxibustion, and/or herbal medicine.
Does acupuncture hurt?
In short, no! Whilst some people may feel a sensation such as a dull ache, light pressure or a gentle twinge; for the most part you can’t feel the needles. We use very thin needles and sensitivies to them can vary from day to day, depending on the individual and the area of the body being treated.
Do you offer a concession discount?
Yes, we do. We offer a 20% discount for all concession card holders, including student, pensioners and health care cardholders.
What do I wear to my Chinese Medicine Treatment?
Wearing loose, comfortable clothing is ideal to make it easy for the practitioner to reach different areas of the body for needling. No problem if you can’t though, we have lots of towels to keep you warm and cosy.
What is the difference between acupuncture and dry needling?
Acupuncture and dry needling might look similar, but they’re actually quite different. Acupuncture comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and works with the body’s energy (Qi) to support overall balance and health. Dry needling is a treatment that targets tight or sore muscles to help release tension and ease pain.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated from Japan. We use light touch to no touch at all to promote healing and rebalancing in the body.
